Following the glowing reviews of Leema Acoustics' latest integrated amplifiers in the Netherlands by Hifi online, HVT and Music Emotion, HVT and Music Emotion, the first fantastic reviews from Germany and England have now also come in. The German magazine *Lite* has tested the iD85. The conclusion is:
The Leema iD85 truly surprised us: At first glance, it presents itself as a classic, uncompromising, and absolutely purist analog amplifier. However, its feature set includes a phono MM input, a headphone output – and, in the "D" version of the amplifier, a complete digital section with numerous interfaces and a premium DAC. Sonically, the iD85 reveals its uncompromising nature: With its low distortion, it is designed for exceptional clarity, tranquility, sonority, and coherence. It scores points with wonderful directness, very good resolution, high precision, and lively dynamics. This results in a great freshness and vibrancy to the sound, giving the musicians a fantastic presence. Even though the 85-watt amplifier isn't a decibel powerhouse, it delivers a powerful sound with punch and impact, extending down into the deep, driving bass. The iD85 offers a further performance boost via its dedicated digital section, while remaining true to its transparency in phono mode. Thus, the iD85 delivers Welsh sonic bliss.
